Caprolactam

This is the second and concluding part of the study of processes for the manufacture of caprolactam.

The organization of Part II is necessarily more complex than that of Part I because of the many possible combinations of process steps to get from the raw material to caprolactam. The costs for three major routes, which we will designate as the Phenol, Cyclohexane, and Caprolactone routes, are presented in Part II for the combination of steps that seemed best, compatible with the amount of information available. Other combinations can be constructed from the evaluations of the individual steps.
