Polypropylene

This report continues our evaluations of polyolefin processes. Here we evaluate the technology and economics of four commercial polypropylene processes: the BASF, Sumitomo, and AMOCO/Chisso gas-phase processes, and the HIMONT slurry-phase/gas-phase process. We have chosen an 8% ethylene block copolymer as the basis for our work. Of these processes, both the BASF and HIMONT processes are widely licensed.

This report will be of value to those companies producing polypropylene homopolymers and copolymers, and to those companies considering entry into the business
