This supplementary report brings up to date the Process Economics Program's technical and economic information on ethylene production. Previous PEP reports on ethylene were Nos. 29 (August 1967) and 29A (March 1971). Since 1971, there have been many process improvements in such items as product yield, feedstock flexibility, energy utilization, and plant reliability. Feedstock prices and plant investment costs have also increased dramatically in the past few years. This report reviews these changes and updates the process economics.
